When his wife agrees to testify\, can she be trusted? It’s up to the audience\, as the jury\, to decide whether Vole will walk free or spend the rest of his life in shackles.The play’s setting is London County Hall which served as the headquarters of local government for London for 64 years. When you’re watching the show\, you’ll see the octagonal Council Chamber at the centre of County Hall — it once provided seating for over 200 council members and four galleries overlooking the Chamber for the public and members of the press. It’s the ideal immersive setting for this Agatha Christie courtroom drama. Developed with the support and involvement of the Christie family\, Lucy Bailey directs the new production to place audiences in the centre of the action within the courtroom.According to her autobiography\, Witness for the Prosecution was one of Agatha Christie’s favourites of all her works\, stating: “One night at the theatre stands out in my memory especially; the first night of Witness [for the Prosecution].
