Hello! I’m Lisa and I’m a huge fan of music, dance, plays, musical theatre and pretty much anything you can put on a stage. As a teenager I was certain I would become an actress and took all the relevant exams at school and college only to then become an accountant and auditor for the next 37 years (go figure). I retired from that career at the end of January 2024 and started to plan lots of things I wanted to do with my new abundance of time, catching up on the latest West End shows being one of those things. Living in rural Essex though means it’s not always easy to get out to see the shows I want, without a bunch of stress linked to public transport timetables, taxi ranks, congestion charges or parking nightmares – plus the ever increasing cost of those things.
So, I decided to bring no hassle, great value, show seats & travel bundle show trips to my local area, feeding my own addiction at the same time. Then I decided to add some summer day trips into the mix for a bit of variety, so now we can take you out to lots of places – there is something for everyone. By the way, our show seats are usually Band A or Band B (top end) in the relative theatre’s pricing structure, with unrestricted views, making the whole deal great value for money.

THE TMOT STORY
Our first trips were curated and offered to our “Trippers” in early February 2024 and I am very grateful to my friends and family for helping with votes on names, logo critiques, trip requests and sharing information about TMOT’s launch. With a particular shout out to my childhood friend Karen Luxford, who runs Luxford Theatre Trips in Braintree, for her advice and support.
Word got around quickly and our first West End theatre trip, to see Mrs Doubtfire in May 2024, filled up fast and we quickly built a calendar full of trips to the end of 2024.
Within four weeks, and with the help of a few polls for our Trippers, we scheduled our first Day Trip – Windsor Castle. This was a great success and received lots of positive feedback so we followed this up with Summer Day Trips to Buckingham Palace, The Royal Mews, London Zoo and Camden Market.
We are planning to add to our Day Trips calendar in 2025, picking up on the interests of more of our Trippers, to include places such as Kensington Palace, The Tower of London, London Museums, The Battle Proms at Hatfield Park, Brighton and Aldeburgh.
TMOT’s Solo Trippers
One of the things I love about TMOT is its ability to connect people, not just its ability to feed my personal addiction to all things to do with the performing arts! Since we started we’re pleased and proud to have received wonderful feedback from Trippers who, for one reason or another, find themselves without anybody to accompany them on their day trip or to see shows, when it’s something they love to do. So, with their help, we have created TMOT “Solo Trippers”, a WhatsApp group where people in this position that are open to making new friends, can connect with others and find a trip companion.
You don’t have to be ‘single’ or alone to join, you may just not have anybody in your friends or family groups that share your interests.
