How To…

USE WAIT LISTS

Why should I register my interest in booking an event / trip before it goes on sale?

For events that we are proposing but that are not yet ‘live’ for booking purposes, it is extremely helpful to us if you register your interest in taking part in that event or seeing that show, by signing up to the events pre-sale Wait List.

Your Wait List registration will help us to assess the overall viability of our plan to run an event/trip and increase the likelihood of it subsequently being locked in to our Trips Calendar for booking.

It’s our way of finding out what our Trippers are really interested in doing whilst also minimising the risks to TMOT as a small business and community based service.

How can I find open Wait Lists?

There are several ways to find live Wait Lists, including:

  • Open our Trips Calendar and:
    • use the ‘Category’ or ‘Tags’ filters – Wait List is both a category and a tag
    • type ‘Wait List’ into the search bar then click the “Find Events” search button
    • browse for events where the title of the events starts with “WAIT LIST”
  • Click on a link we have included in one of our media posts or newsletters.

Am I committing to making a later booking if I sign up to the Wait List for an event / trip?

No. By signing up to a Wait List you are registering a keen interest in the event but not making a booking or a commitment to making a later booking. We use the Wait List information to make event ticket and coach reservations, so please be mindful of this.

When you sign up to a Wait List you will receive an email confirmation that you have done so. This email will also include an “unsubscribe” link that you can use at any time to remove yourself from that specific Wait List.

How accurate is the information on the Wait List event pages?

The information provided on Wait List event pages reflects our preliminary plans for the event, including estimated pricing and anticipated coach route pickups.

Event dates used on Wait List event pages are set in different ways – the accuracy of the date used will be stated in the event details narrative on each Wait List event page to help you decide whether or not to sign up. The different approaches to assigning dates to Wait List event pages are as follows:

  1. If we are proposing a specific date for an event, or the event only runs annually and the date is known, we will use that specific date on the Wait List event page.
  2. If the Wait List is for an event we are able to run a number of times or at various times during our year, we will set a date as the 1st of the month in which we intend to run that trip.
  3. If we do not yet know when the event will be scheduled but are looking for early expressions of interest, we will use 31 December of the year in which we intend to run the trip, until we are able to narrow down to a specific proposed month (number 2 above).

How do I sign up to a Wait List?

  1. Read the information about the event given on the Wait List event page.
  2. Go to the ‘Tickets’ section toward the bottom of that page
  3. Where prompted, enter your name followed by the number of places you might like to book in brackets after your name eg “Lisa Blake (4)” and your email address in the boxes provided
  4. Click the “Notify Me” button.

Note: If you are already logged in to your TMOT account when you visit the Wait List event page you will not be prompted to enter your details, just click the “Notify Me” button and we will contact you separately about the number of places you are interested in.

What will happen after I sign up to a Wait List?

When you sign up to a Wait List you will receive an email notification that you have done so. This email will also contain an “unsubscribe” link which you can use at any time if you decide you want to de-register your interest in an event and remove yourself from the Wait List.

If we decide the event / trip is viable and we have finalised the event details, we will convert the Wait List events page into an event booking page. You will receive an email notification that the event is available for use, allowing you to decide whether to commit to the event with a firm booking.
